I hope that someone may be able to help me out here. We recently purchased a Xerox WorkCentre 3220. We had no issues setting this printer up as a network printer, and everything seems to be working fine. However, I am unable to connect to the printer via a web browser. I can ping the IP address, so I don't understand why I am getting "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
when I put the same IP address in the web browser.
Am I missing something? Is there a http setting on the printer someplace that I don't know about on?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Can you try using another web-browser?
Regarding the device you can also check if the http services are enabled.

Hi RuiC. Thanks for the quick response.
I attempted to telnet to the printer and received the following error:
Connecting To 172.27.213.92:80...Could not open connection to the host, on port
23: Connect failed
On the network configuration report, there is absolutely nothing about http service. I receive the same error when I inserted the IP address into the link you sent.

Sorry...I forgot to mention that I also tried connecting to this printer via Firefox. I get no error message there....just a completely blank page.

can you try telnet ip 80 instead of telnet ip:80
Use spaces instead of ":"

If you are sure that there are no web proxies or other security walls on the way that could cause this, you also try to connect with Crossover cable and test is on direct environment.
Make sure somehow your using https instead of http... but if you enter just the ip in the browser it should call it correctly..
You can check the "network" settings for http serice. But I am not sure you will have this on this machien.
Assuming the problem is with the printer services then you can only clean the settings please make sure you keep a config page and back up any settings you find relevant.
System Setup >Clear Setting >System Setup
Apart from this there is a tech mode but I am afraid you will have to call a Xerox Representative for this one.

with the workcentre devices its possible to disable the http protocol , you can enable this if you login as admin on the device itself and then goto network settings , protocol settings...
