7830 question

Hello,

I bought a second hand machine, it works well but I discovered that it is in metered mode. My concern is that there is a countdown found in configuration page and there is a metered mode countdown, when the countdown will be over does the machine will be blocked ?

Hello Joe,

Yes I still have the same problem... since the Xerox support is not accessible by telephone : I only have a person that doesn't know my mother tongue and doesn't know what I'm talking about, thsi person is only here to send me a contract. The only way to discuss with the technician is to sign in the contract and pay 800 euros.

 

It's incredible that Xerox could block a machine like that and that the support could be done correctly without a contract.

So ... what is the solution ... ?

The solution does not change.

 

If you bought a device from Xerox, it would not have happened, and if it did it wouold have gotten resolved already, in this case Xerox sold a machine to a person with a specific contract, that person sold it to you without that contract, so now you need one to match it. Or to pay to have the machine put back into a neutral state. Either way, there will be a cost.

 

Keep in mind, the issue remains the same with near all printer manufacturers

Right, ok admit that I have to pay to be in sold mode...

 

But without support what can I do ? I just want to be sure that if I pay a technician the problem will be solved. And since I don't have any contract, I can't contact a technician directly.

You can (at least in North America) call Xerox and get a tech paged to your location without a contract, but you need to pay for the service. I don't know what the T&M rates are in any country.
