I have a Versalink C405 that wakes up every 20 min or so, when its connected to the phone line(Fax). If i unplug the phone line, then it will wake up only when there is a job to be printed. I have contacted Xerox support, but they concluded its working as intended. I dont think that is correct, and i think they are missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stab in the dark guess is a bad fax job (misdialed) set to retry endlessly every 15 minutes.

Then you will likely need to hook up a handset to the line and see what is happening on the phone line, either something is polling the printer, or the printer is initiating something, and you will never guess.
You could try simply updating the firmware on the printer, but it isn't likely to fix this.

The one I linked is the latest one. 68.12 is just the beginning of a few releases.
Those are the versions so far.
If you ever want to know between versions which is the newer.

Unfortunately updating the firmware to the one you linked, did not make a difference.
Also i do not hear anything poling the printer at the time it wakes up.
