Black Toner Smearing WorkCentre 7220i

I have a Xerox WorkCentre 7220i that has recently started having issues with the black portions of color printouts not fusing to the page and smearing across the page. We recently had the laser replaced as it failed four months after purchasing the WorkCentre and this issue seemed to start after the repair. It has a new fuser and laser in it and I don't know if something else is failing and need to have the tech come back again or maybe just a setting or need to replace some consumable supply.170913144643_0001.jpg

That looks like it isn't fusing, and ends up peeling off on a roller then getting picked up again in the wrong spot, which would imply the paper is programmed wrong (plain vs cardstock for instance) or an incompatible 3rd party toner that has different melt point than Xerox branded.

Joe is correct, or its a bad fuser.

Funny thing, we are using plain white paper, but if I set the 7220 paper trays to lightweight cardstock it will fuse properly on the plain white paper. I tried replacing the fuser with no luck. I'm going to try replacing the black drum unit and see if that makes any difference. We are still using the Xerox toner that came with the unit from the factory.

Other steps would be to have a tech re-initialize the nvm's or do an alt boot software load. You may also want to check your power going to the machine is good. Another possibility is that the file is coming over too saturated. see if copies are not fusing as well as other files.
