I posted on this issue a couple days ago, but just became aware that the printer tracks jam history so more information is now available.
To reiterate the problem, the printer works properly from the MPT and tray 3, but any paper coming from tray 2 (the internal tray) stops behind door A every time. The display panel shows error 89,108 (see photo below) where the leading edge of the sheet seems to stop just about 1/4" short of the next set of rollers.
Any help getting this sorted would be appreciated.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. You do not mention which machine you are using but the first thing to check in the paper you are using. Make sure it is within specifications for the machine. Fan and flip the paper and try again. If it still jams try a new ream of paper that has been kept in a climate controlled. If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Cheryl, sorry. It's a CQ 8570. Can't be the paper - I'm using some of the best there is - Hammermill Color Copy Digital - multiple attempts with different reams. It has always run just fine, and prints like a champ from the MPT or tray 3. In fact, I just ran 1620 duplex sheets (3240 pages) via tray three a few days ago, so it's got to be something to do with the paper path from tray 2 that's the problem. Just stops dead in its tracks, per the photo.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

By the way, here's one more odd thing.
When a sheet gets held up behind Door A and I remove it, the printer properly pulls a cleaning sheet and passes it through. Then it attempts to reprint the page, and that stops again. Lather, rinse, repeat. I have *no* odea why the page to be printed stalls, but a cleaning pages passes through.
Is it possible the gears on the left side of the printer (not the process gears, the other set) are out of whack somehow?

Does this happen with different documents? What program are you trying to print from? Make sure you have the trays selected properly in the document and the program you are using. If it is able to pull paper from the tray then there might be something with the document. If it happens on multiple documents and on more than one program then service will need to take a look.

Cheryl, I can't afford to call a service tech, and if I did, that rather throws the whole cost of ownership thing out the window, doesn't it?
I find it hard to believe that this problem, which is not unusual for this printer, doesn't have a more succinct solution. It seems this is not an uncommon error messsage, it seems to be a known problem, I'm asking for HELP.
Please see if you can get someone to assist?
