PrintingScount: No supported printers found

Hello!

I just installed Windows 10 x64.

I tried downloading and installing the driver for my Xerox 6000, but the printer didn't get recognized.

So I procedeed to install it from Windows Update.

Now the printer is recognized and works.

However PrintingScount doesn't work. When I open it, it says "There are no installed printers which support PrintingScout".

Please help me. Everything worked fine with Windows 8.1

Re: PrintingScount: No supported printers found

Windows update would give you a class driver form Microsoft, and not a Xerox made driver, so Printing scout won't see it.

And since neither Windows 8 or 10  is supported, I would also assume that you would need to run printing Scout in compatibility mode, and possibly even as an administrator.

This is the driver that should be used to make it work, but you would need to specify the port and not use the Windows default WSD port.

Re: PrintingScount: No supported printers found

You say that Windows 8 or 10 are not supported, but you linked me the driver for Windows 10. So are they supported or not? And if not, why?

BTW, I already installed that driver you linked me, but it didn't work! I had to download the working driver from Windows Update.

I tried running PrintingScount as admin and in compatibility mode (I set Windows 7), with no success!

How can I specify the port?

Re: PrintingScount: No supported printers found

You say that Windows 8 or 10 are not supported, but you linked me the driver for Windows 10. So are they supported or not? And if not, why? Printing scout and the other software contained in the software downloads doesn't display for Windows 10, so it doesn't get official support. The driver does, the software doesn't. I was wrong on Windows 8 though.

BTW, I already installed that driver you linked me, but it didn't work!

It should work just fine in Windows 10 with the caveat I mentioned, do not pick the printer from the list, just continue through and do it all manually just like you would have in Windows 7.

I had to download the working driver from Windows Update.

Since Printing Scout doesn't see the Xerox driver it won't find the printer

I tried running PrintingScount as admin and in compatibility mode (I set Windows 7), with no success!

How can I specify the port?

Go into Control Panel >Devices and printers then right-click the Phaser and go to Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port and make sure your settings match these identically.

I can with no doubt state it works in Win10 x64 with the Xerox driver I linked and the Windows 8 x64 CD download to get Printing scout when the printer is installed via TCP/IP port with the settings show above, which you can see me running here right at this minute . There is a newer build of Windows 10 though.

Re: PrintingScount: No supported printers found

When I click "Configure port" the following error is displayed: "Error during port configuration. Operation not supported."
