I think it maybe easier for people to find the information they need if they can go straight to a board that is specialized in the equipment they run. I know you can't list one for each and every machine model, but can you make one for each family? Example: DocuPrint, DocuColor, Copiers, ect.
I like this idea.
When we were in the planning stages of the User communities we had many debates on this exact topic. We decided to go with the current board categories as we thought there would be value in topics that would impact multiple lines of products. I will be keeping a close eye on how the boards are doing and will look for the input of the community as we evolve.
Thank you for this suggestion and I will keep it on our list of potential changes

I like the idea Steve.
Tagging the post with the product name would be another idea to help with searching.
I believe that the current format is sufficient, provided that the search engine is configurable to allow searching by family, model specific, and topic or problem. The whole idea of a forum is to share knowledge and experience with others. A first time technician who is motivated to learn can gain a wealth of knowledge from those who have gone and reported before him. I have had the oppurtunity to view the forum on XEAN and I thought it was really well thought out. The one draw back is that it is behind a highly secured and extremely limited firewall. Not many have access to it. I really look forward to seeing this forum grow as time goes forward.
This forum is a useless waste of time if I have to search for anything related to my only Xerox device every time I log in. It would indeed be great to have an alternative to the painful level one system, but this isn't it.
I just joined this forum but agree with concerns expressed. I think notanewmember would like a simply way to view the latest posts on only the products they care about. I know I would. Just like you have a section on the front page for "Community" and "My Bookmarks" it would nice to see "My Products". Each user can specify the products they care about and edit it if they want new ones later on. Just my two cents.
