Re: 3635 Network Scanning - not working in Win 7 / Server 2008 R2

Network Scanning should work fine with Server 2008 .  I have one in my office and it works with Server 2008.  Xerox support should be able to find a solution for you.  It always helps to provide them wireshark traces and screen shots of your Network Scanning setup on the Web user interface.  Good luck.

Re: 3635 Network Scanning - not working in Win 7 / Server 2008 R2

We updated it to that firmware (20.103.05.003) on Thursday, to see if it would help.  It didn't seem to make any difference.

3635 Network Scanning - not working in Win 7 / Server 2008 R2

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a 3635MFP that was setup to scan to a network file share and was working perfectly.  Then we upgraded our file servers to Windows Server 2008 R2 and it broke the scan to network feature.  This feature was also broken on two Workcentre machines, but a new firmware added an option to "Resolve host name" and unchecking that box fixed those Workcentre machines.

The path that works from any and all workstations is \\server.state.edu\department\name\xerox

What I have entered into the File Repository on the 3635 is:

Host name (NETBIOS) - server.state.edu

:139

Share - department

Document Path - name/xerox

My problem is pretty much the same as this one: http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Copying-Faxing-Scanning/3635-Windows-7-Pro-Can-t-scan-via-SMB/td-p...

The difference is I am not scanning to a standalone Windows 7 box, but to a clustered file server running Server 2008 R2.  I can't just go in and change the UAC, firewall, and security settings on the server.

Since the server is clustered I can't use an IP address to access the file share, it has to be via host name.  I have called Xerox support and we did a firmware upgrade but it didn't help.  Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?
