Finally i solved the network scan issue.

 

First i changed the settings so that Windows 10 could use SMB 1 cause for some reason my Workcentre 3045NI does not accept the port number 445 for SMB 2.

 

Then throught control panel -> advanced sharing settings, i turned on file and printer sharing. (With out this setting activated you get "connect error").

 

And finally i changed from Xerox's interface  

 

1)The login name form MAIN-PC\Administrators to Main PC

(Dont copy the name of network path from the sharing tab, just use your pc's login name)

 

2) The name of shared directory from \Scans to Scans.

Everything else still applies, just follow the MS steps for Windows 8 to enable SMB1 on Windows 10 and it should work fine.

Joe thanks for your reply...

 

I used port number 139 because when i try to use 445 and save i get the message

Unable to apply settings.
Please check the settings for following items.

Server Port Number

 

I dont know why my printer cannot save settings with port number 445  :(

Windows 10 is SMB2 and 3, so 139 doesn't work for a port, 445 is needed or you need to modify Windows 10 to use SMB1.

 

MAIN-PC\Administrators is not a user, it is a group, and cannot be used to login from the printer, try adding a user to the admin group called XeroxScan and of course give it a password to use and add it to the share. Make sure you get the formatting of the user right too, since Win10 wants it in email form, not Domain\User , which can be see here (use the one in brackets)

Share name should not have the leading \ in most cases, so try without too.

Hi,

I am setting up Xerox worcentre on Windows 10 and getting the 031-529 login failed message.

Windows Firewall is turned off and these are my settings...

There is absolutely a user account or Windows wouldn't load.

It is impossible without a password to access the share, if it was possible then anyone on your network could access your PC at any time and drop whatever they wanted on your hard drive or remove it just by knowing your IP address/Hostname.

 

If it is Windows 7 go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and make another user via the Manage Another Account link.

After you create it there will be an option to assign a password, that has to be done.

Hello to all,

 

I am setting my 6015 and I have still same error code 031-529 login failed. I tried everything but I probably filled wrong login name and password. problem is that on the notebook isnt any "user" only Home-PC with no login without password. I tried every possibility of login name without password. please see the screens.

it is on windows 7, printer(scanner) is connected via Wi-fi.

 

I appreciate every effort to help.

Your username is wrong, Win 10 is never formatted with just the name. Check the properties of the smb share and format the name identical to how it is displayed in brackets here.

It is not going to work by typing the username you use to login because the Hostname/domain name info is added by Windows Automagically, the printer cannot know to do that remotely so you do it manually.

Hi,

I am setting up Xerox worcentre on Windows 10 and getting the 031-529 login failed message.

 

I am using the Windows username/password with below settings.The scan folder is shared and have all the permissions.I changed the firewall rules to let the traffic from printer(192.168.2.28) as shown below.

 

Any ideas of how to resolve this.Looks like its the Windows 10 SMB configuration issue as everything else is correct.

 

Please advise.
