Try:

netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFTP disable

Seems to be dependant on FTP traffic.

Re: 6204 Wide format scan service & Windows firewall

Did this ever get resolved. I am having the same problem. Installed the Scan Service software and getting the same message when trying to create a mailbox. The Xerox is being seen so it's got to be a communication issue and I'm sure you're on the right track with the firewall, but like you I do not want to turn off the firewall.

Xerox claims that the 6204 is Windows 7 compatable and this should mean all their software for it is as well. The latest version of the Scan software is not 64bit but is Windows 7 32bit.

I see that you got blown off by the Xerox forum rep with basically no answer.

6204 Wide format scan service & Windows firewall

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello,

I'm having a hard time setting up access to mailboxes when using the wide format scan service program.

I'm using the most current version of wide format scan service, Windows 7, and a Xerox 6204 via print server/network.

I'm able to gain access to the scanner mailboxes when I turn the Windows firewall completely off, however I'm unable to access the mailboxes when I add the scan service as an exception in Windows firewall. I'd prefer not to run the system naked, if possible. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need further details on the configuration I'll be responsive.
