Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure that the SMTP settings are correct including the port number. For the 016-768 fault please look at these solutions for the code and make sure you have tried all those solutions.  If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance or emailing support using the Ask The Expert form.

7232 Scan to Email SMTP problem

I have a 7232 and I've been unable to use the scan to email function for several months. I have contacted support by phone, and they have sent a technician out to upgrade the firmware, with no improvement. I beleive the issue is with SMTP authentication. In the SMTP Server setup screen the bottom section has three radio buttons - NONE, POP before SMTP, and SMTP AUTH. If I select any of the buttons other than NONE and click the APPLY button the radio button selection jumps back to NONE and is on NONE after reboot..

 

Is there a setting elswhere that is not correct that could be causing this? I need help with this please. I have a stack of error reports and no sucessful scans. Todays attempts the first error I received was 016-503 SMTP Server Address. I changed the server address from the name to the IP Address after that all ensuing errors are 016-768 Invalid Sender Address. I've change the machines address to four different working email addresses with no change in results or error message.
