I have a 7232 and I've been unable to use the scan to email function for several months. I have contacted support by phone, and they have sent a technician out to upgrade the firmware, with no improvement. I beleive the issue is with SMTP authentication. In the SMTP Server setup screen the bottom section has three radio buttons - NONE, POP before SMTP, and SMTP AUTH. If I select any of the buttons other than NONE and click the APPLY button the radio button selection jumps back to NONE and is on NONE after reboot..
Is there a setting elswhere that is not correct that could be causing this? I need help with this please. I have a stack of error reports and no sucessful scans. Todays attempts the first error I received was 016-503 SMTP Server Address. I changed the server address from the name to the IP Address after that all ensuing errors are 016-768 Invalid Sender Address. I've change the machines address to four different working email addresses with no change in results or error message.
