Re: Is it dangerous?

Dear likbez,
Welcome to our Customer forum and thank you for your post.

It seems your post is not related to the initial topic and discussion, so I would ask that you repost your question to the forum again in a new post and be sure to include the Xerox printer model you are using and any other details you think would help. For example, does this problem occur only when you are printing, or do lines appear when you copy with the document glass.

In the meantime, you could trying searching our online product knowledge base. If you go to www.Xerox.com and select your country of origin, click on Support & Drivers and select your printer model, you will be able to access the product knowledge base where you can search for your problem and possible solutions.

I hope this helps. I'll look forward to seeing your new post.

Re: Is it dangerous?

we are getting irregular spots of white lines across the printed pages while all cartridges are ok (based on screen reports) - as it's shown on the scanned page attached;

could anyone advise us what can be done to get it fixed? as in our country there's too poor service of Xerox and even in our average-size city we can't find any official or unofficial support of Xerox products (unfortunately).

Re: Is it dangerous?

Hello Pitsu,

Your solution is not something that Xerox would have suggested, but since it works for you and you are up and running and getting your work done, it's all good.  Stacking the heavy books on your document feeder in order to scan your pages is okay.

We're glad that you're up and running again!  Thank you for letting everyone know what you did to resolve your issue, I'm sure it'll help someone else soon!

Is it dangerous?

I am surprised or disapointed that no one from XEROX told me this ultra simple solution. Now I can scan even thinnest book pages from a 500 page book that was before totally impossible to scan. You just didn't know it or is it a dangerous way to push the automatic paper feed down? Can it harm the machine? Of course I sit close during the process, so I would notice if paper would be really stuck in the machine.

Found a solution!

I think I found a solution that works and it is so simple: I just put two really heavy bibles on the automatic paper feed to press it down. And suddenly I was able to scan 30 pages without any stop. So this seems to be the way to turn off this "paper stuck" sensor. I hope this "cheat" works, that would be great. I hope this trick will help also some other frustrated people.

Re: 7328: automatic paper feed always stuck!

Thank you for your advice, I will try it out.

But I think it has to do with the surface of the paper. The automatic paper feed sensor has problems with rough paper. Is that true? If I cut a photo high quality paper book into single pages and scan them, then I got no problem. But if I do the same with a normal print-book-paper-quality I get problems, especially with small pages.

Of course the pages are all in very good shape, no damage, new from the bookstore. But it really looks like this machine has problems with small pages who are not flat, glance or A4 printer paper. Pitty!

So in fact it's not possible for me to use the automatic scan for all smaller (around A5) books and thats unfortunately a very big part of my collection.

Re: 7328: automatic paper feed always stuck!

there is an option "mixed sizes" for the originals... maybe you can try that one...

normally that option is for different formats like a4, a5 and so one...

7328: automatic paper feed always stuck!

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi

Sorry I don't know the English terms / words, but I try to describe my problem. In our office we have a big XEROX 7328 workstation. We need it to scan books. So that's my job. I cut the books, that's quite a rought job. Then I cut the pages with a big knife to make the edges sharp and clean. After that I put all pages on the automatic paper feed. I scan the pages two sides. Of course I don't put too many pages on the feed.

I found out, that it depends on the paper size and quality if the machine takes them or if the paper gets stuck in the roll. If I want to scan small books with a bit rough and not glance paper, then it can get stuck very often. But actually only the machine thinks that the paper is stuck. In reality there is happening no damage. But I have to take the paper out and try again. It makes to process extremly hard.

Is there a possibility to make that also small and rough papers are accepted? Do I need to clean something? Is there a way to solve this problem and use the scan automatic paper feed for smaller books?

It's very important for me. So thank you for your tipps and answer.

Greetings from Switzerland

Dave
