I have a situation where I have two machines right next to each other (7556 working fine and 7845 will not work) set up exactly the same way for SMB scanning. The only error I'm getting is the generic log in error, check user name and/or set ups. I have verified that all settings are exactly the same.
The steps I've taken so far are:
Upgrading to software level 071.040.103.04401
Installing SMB patch (it said file submitted but I have no proof that it was successful)
Resetting software
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same difficulty. When I loaded the smbclient patch, it wouldn't show on configuration page until I powered machine off and then on again. It still doesn't scan. Anyone with ideas?

I tried port 445, no luck. I tried scanning to the root folder only, no luck. I've put the domain name in front of the user name, lpandt\Scan Docs, no luck. I created a new user and password, no change. All the other xerox machines (6) are scanning just fine with the credentials they are using for the 7845, just can't get the 7845 to work. The other machines are 7345 and 7120.
