8560 MFP - CentreWare - scanning - tiff OK - pdf no ?

Hello,

We are having the exact same issue that Frank is describing. After scanning a document, it can be downloaded from the web interface as any file type except the smaller PDF. When the Smaler PDF is chosen the web interface locks up for two or three minutes for all users. If the requesting user waits long enough the save-as dialog will come up and the document is successfully downloaded, but it takes far longer than most users are willing to wait- several minutes sometimes. 

We just upgraded to the newest firmware for the device, first OS 8.54 / PS 4.9.4 / Net 41.60.06.23.2010 and then OS 8.56 / PS 4.9.6 / Net 42.00.04.09.2011 without any luck. We are accessing the web interface from Windows 7 x86 using IE 9, Chrome 14, and Firefox 7.0.1 with the same results on all of them. It almost seems like compression of the pdf is taking an unusually long time but I'm not sure why.

I welcome any suggustions.

Hello John,

after firmware update and new ie I can download high quality pdf files from the 8560 harddisc

but NOT low quality pdf files.

I don´t know why but I think its OK

Hi Frank,

I'm not quite sure if this helped you or not?  It looks like you are now able to download high quality PDF files when you were not able to before - is that correct?  Has anything changed since yesterday when you last tried to work with a PDF file?

I can not download PDF scans with low quality,

but I can download PDF scans with high quality.... !

I don´t know why but I scan also in high quality !

Hello Frank,

Are you using this process to get your scanned images?

To retrieve scanned images using CWIS:

1. From a computer, open an Internet web browser.
2. Enter the IP Address of the Phaser in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The Centreware Internet Services window will be displayed.
   
   NOTE: The IP Address of the Phaser can be found on the Configuration Page. See the Related items below for additional information.
   
   Click on the [Scans] button. Thumbnails of all images that have been scanned into the Public Folder will be displayed. To retrieve images from the Public Folder, continue with step 7.
   
   To retrieve images from a private folder, continue with the next step.
   
   Click on the [+] next to the Private Folders folder on the left side of the window to expand the folder and view the contents.
3. Click on the required private folder.
4. Enter the 4-digit password assigned to the private folder in the Folder Numeric Password field, and then click on [OK]. Thumbnails of all images scanned into the private folder will be displayed.
5. Select the required file format from the Retrieve As pull-down menu next to the image to be retrieved.
6. Click on the [Go] button.
   
   NOTE: To delete a scanned image, click on the [Delete] button next to the image to be deleted. To delete all scanned images in the folder, click on the [Delete All] button.
7. Follow the prompts to save the image to the required location on the computer (Windows)

If not, does this method work for downloading your .pdf files?

I have installed IE 8.00 and the Firmware RElease PS 4.9.4

Nothing, I can not download pdf files.

please try upgrading your internet explorer , that version 6 is rather old....

also there are new firmwares out for that machine : you can download it here :
