I am getting a scanner disconnected error on my 8560mfp and the support site for this error http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-8560mfp/support/enus.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLang... says to upgrade to a minimum firmware version of ps 4.9.14 but the latest version available on the driver/download page is 4.9.10 which purports to fix this problem but does not seem to load when the error is present. Another post on the board from 2012 for a small pdf issue suggests that 4.10.10 is available from support. I have a support (email) request in but since our printer is out of warranty and we have not paid for support I am anticipating a long wait with a non working scanner.
Why does Xerox not post up to date firmware, the 4.9.10 version says it is from Jan 2012, over 2 years ago.

Too bad it won't load either. Can't load firmware to fix fault, when fault is present. Hmmm stuck in death spiral for this printer. Only has 33,544 pages on it. Pretty expensive printing
Thank you for using the forum. Please try this power off and cable solution and see if this will clear the error so that you can load the firmware. If this continues please consider contacting your local support centre.
