Fair enough. I figured there wasnt really anything that could be done. I am convinced that engineers have worse hand writing than doctors :)
There really is no fix, Searchable only works on a clearly defined font.
Throw some freehand note or a weird font at any OCR software and you will get odd issues.
Xerox printers usually fault after an extended period, not a good response to a problem to be sure, but probably too difficult to program it to identify that it isn't bright enough to figure out what is on the page and give you a kindly worded message about the quality of your penmanship ;-)
Just recently my company decided to explore the use of scanning docs as Searchable PDF's so we enabled it on a few machines to play with. Its worked great.
However we did run into one issue. We had someone trying to scan a hand written log sheet (3, 8.5 x11 sheets) and it kept hanging up. I tried just about everything i could possibly think of, then it clicked "I wonder if it has anything do with the searchable PDF option" as soon as i turne it off it worked, i turned it back on tried same doc and it failed.
Software version: 072.180.145.05000
Not a game changer, but is there any thing that can be done on my end other than having users manually change the setting on the email setup screen?
thanks
