A thought....
There are 2 email send login scenarios, email can work when you go to the device and not when the device sends one itself, so verify it works here as well as when you use email on the device
And if it doesn't, fix it here (Top is you at the printer, bottom is printer sending without you there)
The rule for hardcopy is the one that applies to LANFAX which is why I mentioned it.
As stated , I can't replicate it with no setup other than the MFP having the ability to send email, so update your firmware and hope.
Hi Joe. Just confirmed that the fax confirmation is set to Always Print. The issue isn't the hardcopy, just when the user prints to the "fax printer" we set up and have it set to "send an email" rather than "send to printer" for the fax confirmation sheet. Thanks.
Works fine on mine, are you sure the faxes are failing? Typically a confirmation is only printed for a failure, so if successful you get nothing.
Device > Tools > App settings > Fax Service > Setup Fax Reports > Confirmation Report > Always Print
If that isn't there, you are on a newer firmware, so it will be at the device (you must log in as admin to do this) via Fax > Show additional information > Confirmation report > Print Confirmation > Customize > Save Settings as default
We have a request for having a fax confirmation sheet be sent by email rather than a hardcopy on the device itself when someone faxes from their desktop. I've confirmed the copier can send email and that faxing from the desktop works as well but the email confirmation never gets received from testing myself. It looks like it should work from the screen shots below when faxing. I'm wondering if perhaps, the email is not being generated by the copier but the client computer in an unauthenticated method? In our environment, only certain IP addresses are allowed to send email if unauthenticated. Can anyone shed some light perhaps? Thank you.
