Re: B215 Won't SMB Scan

Hello espressodoppio,

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

Re: B215 Won't SMB Scan

I have the exact same problem with my new B215. If I try to scan to a folder on my Mac through SMB it keeps saying that the username or password is wrong. I am sure, they are not.

I made some additional tests.

  • If I deliberately enter a wrong username in the contact card, the "scan to file confirmation report" is printed right after I start the scan.
  • If I use the correct username and correct password, the wheel on the display keeps turning for almost two minutes before the report is printed.
  • If I use the correct username and wrong password, I get the same behaviour as with the correct password.

In all cases the "Status Details" says "username or password is wrong".

I use the latest firmware.

Can anyone help?

Re: B215 Won't SMB Scan

You can try to get a clone with settings from the working machine and to install on the non working machine.

B215 Won't SMB Scan

Product Name: Xerox B215 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows Server 2012 x64

B215 Keeps saying wrong username or password.

I have an identical B215 with the exact settings.

I have tried the exact settings on an Altalink C8155 - The test passes gloriously, so again its not my information.

The password is not expired, it is not typed in wrong, and it works again on another B215 and C8155.

I have rebooted the printer, done a firmware upgrade. Re-entered the folder. Changed Folder name with no spaces, gave it a short name.

Any more suggestions ?

And for the love of the fate of the Universe...DON'T link THIS Scan to Network (SMB Folder or FTP Server) ( as the answer because IT DOES NOT WORK.
