Thanks for using the Forum. Sounds like you have tried everything already, so it would be a hardware escalation: 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.
I've confirmed the settings are good (including using telnet to directly connect to the destination mail server address and port from a Windows machine on the same network as the printer), I've confirmed the printer has the latest firmware. I tried disabling IPv6 in case it was preferentially using that protocol and unable to leave the local LAN.
Attempting to scan to email causes the printer to reboot without error.
