It works !!

Thank you MargoV-Xerox for the description, point 11 was the solution.

The [Preset Scan Areas] option was on "auto-detect" but selecting the A3 now is does not use the feeder any more.

It is really strange... I will try to check why the "auto-detect" wants to use the feeder, but I have a solution for the moment.

Thank you all once again.

Philippe.

hello, from www.support.xerox.comthis may be the solution : Make a Copy From a Bound Original

NOTE: There are various options for copying bound originals. This solution describes copying a book with two-sided pages of 140 x 216 mm (5.5 x 8.5 in.) with normal image quality onto one-sided plain 216 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 in.) paper, uncollated.

Before you begin, make sure to cancel any selections made by a previous user by pressing the [Clear All] button.

  1. Open the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF).

    Open Document Feeder

  2. Place the bound original face-down on the Document Glass with the top edge toward the rear of the machine and registered against the rear, left corner of the Document Glass.

NOTE: Do not close the DADF.

  3. Press the [Services] button on the Control Panel.
  4. Select the [Copy] button on the Touch Screen.
  5. Select the [Layout Adjustment] tab.
  6. Select the [Book Copying] button.
  7. Select [Both Pages], [Left Page Only] or [Right Page Only].
  8. If necessary, select the [Binding Edge Erase] option, which deletes the shadow from the copies that is caused by the center binding.
  9. Select the [Save] button.
  10. Select the [Original Size] button.
  11. Select the [Preset Scan Areas] button.
  12. Select the paper size that matches the book being copied.
  13. Select the [Save] button.
  14. Select the [Copy] tab.
  15. Select the [1-1 Sided] button to ouput one-sided pages.
  16. Select [Tray 3] or [Tray 4], whichever is loaded with 216 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 in.) portrait paper, from the Paper Supply column.
  17. If necessary, select the [Hole-Punch and More] button under the Copy Output column, select the [Uncollated] button, and then select the [Save] button.
  18. Select the number of copies required using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel.
  19. Apply light pressure to the spine of the bound-book and then press the [Start] button.

Check your settings again. It seems you may have it set to make a book from scanned pages.

Hi, thank you for replying.

The actual Firmware is : 060.090.009.34821

I suppose it is an old one, i'm not allowed to upgrade as it is a loan, but their support is too bad..

It seems to work with an other printer (same Firmware "normally, I have to check).

Book Copying - Workcentre 7765.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

I'm from Luxembourg (sooo far!) and we are using many Workcentre 7765.

I do not really understand why, but when we want to use the "Book Copying" option, the printer ask for the book in the feeder.

For a standard copy, the printer use the document glass, but with this option enabled, it ask for the feeder...

I called our support here, but they asked me why don't we cut the pages with scissors, then put the pages on the feeder.

Answer : It is a book, you know.. A BOOK !!

I searched in the printer manual, and I get this :

"Note: You must use the document glass to make copies from books, magazines, or other bound documents. Do not place bound originals in the document feeder."

If you have any idea, please let me know.

Regards, and sorry for my English :)

Philippe.
