secureserver.net is the server (at least thats what I think it is....)
Since it can't work without being 100% correct in every setting, your uncertainty would very much seem to be an issue here.
secureserver.net definitely isn't an SMTP server, but it is indeed a bit piece of the name of the godaddy servers
Take the time to read this on that page as well since it certainly won't work if you don't
NOTE: "smtpout.secureserver.net" is an SMTP relay server. In order to use this server to send e-mails, you must first activate SMTP relay on your e-mail account. Log on to your Manage Email Accounts page to set up SMTP relay. If you do not have SMTP relay set up and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) allows it, you can use the outgoing mail server for your Internet Service Provider. Contact your Internet Service Provider to get this setting.
This page is a good run through of the stuff you need, just ignore the IMAP/POP stuff as the printer doesn't need them, only the outgoing stuff applies.
And the printer can only find the latest general release firmwares, not the latest, which is at this moment 68.21.51
secureserver.net is the server (at least thats what I think it is....)
and the attachement shows the update for the software, unless there is a different spot to find firmware????

016-781 is no connection of any kind to the server.
017-714 is an unsupported encryption on the server.
Since you don't mention anything about what server you are attempting to use, I can't make much in the way of suggestions, and since you don't list what you updated the firmware to I can't know if you are on the latest, which is pretty much a requirement to get past the 017-714 fault if the server is using SHA-2 (Gmail and Office365 for sure use it)
also the updated the software yesterday (received the entire thing in the box yesterday).......
Setting up VersaLink C405 for the first time - am only using wi-fi, and have the printer itself working, fax works, but not the scan to email. I have gone thru the settings (what I "think" are the right settings), checked the date and time, but cannot get it to work. I get:
Or messing with the ports:
Just cant seem to get is straight. We are using secureserver.net as the email......help if possible.
Thank you for your time!
