The Phaser 6180MFP does not have a DADF (Duplex Automatic Document Feeder) which means that it cannot automatically scan both sides of an original - in any mode (copy, scan, or fax.) The document feeder is an ADF on the 6180MFP. You have to manually flip the original over and scan it again for the second side.
Using the document feeder, in Copy mode, the 6180 will scan both sides of 2-sided document. It seems odd that it would not be able to do so in Scan mode.
