Re: Can't find my scan to address book

You don't, if it existed it wouldn't matter since this printer isn't looking at it.

Either the printer you are looking at physically is different than the one you are viewing in CWIS, or it is horribly broken in some way (corrupt)

A quick trick is to create a scan template that already exists on the printer to see if it forces them/it to show up again in CWIS, or try restoring the defaults in the default template (re-syncs the HDD and ESS PWB)

Failing that, a tech would need to do a Diagnostics mem clear (Instructions will not be provided here, it is not publicly disclosed information)

Re: Can't find my scan to address book

My only thought is that your templates are not on the printer, they are in a template pool, see if you have one setup here, if you do, get to the source, they will need to modified on the server share, which will push the new data to the device

Re: Can't find my scan to address book

OK - I'll stop calling it address list.  I have a list of names for scanning.   I can't find out how to get to it and edit it - I don't want to create a new one.   I want to edit a list of names already visible under the scan function on the printer/scanner.   I can't find out how to edit the list from the device web interface.

Below is a picture from the screen of my device - this is the list I wish to edit.

I can't seem to get the same page to come up as you have for the file repository.

Re: Can't find my scan to address book

You only get a login prompt when you do something that needs you to login

Addressbook is email, and it is found CWIS > Properties > Services > E-mail Settings  > Local Address book

1.JPG

You can export it to get the csv and edit as you see fit in Excel

SMB/FTP scan locations are done as File Repositories ala CWIS > Properties > Services  > Network Scanning > File Repository Setup, this is where you would put a typical File server. When people go to the device to use these, they each typically have a named template that goes to these repositories, but maybe add a level, so the repository is a server at IP 10.10.10.1 and a share called userscans. Each person has a folder in userscans with their first name. So the repository goes to 10.10.10.1 and the folder userscans, the template points to the repository and adds the name.

So repo

Template points to repo

And then to the users folder

There is no address book on this device for scan to a PC, it is just email

Re: Can't find my scan to address book

Hello,

I'm on it remotely now and do not see the list of names from the file repository.   Somewhere on that scanner is the data for several users to scan to them.

Is it possible there is a special web address or tab I need from the web page to get to the admin login which might have that?  I know the admin username and password.   When I go to the IP of the scanner it does not ask for it - it just gets me directly on the printer/scanner.    Many brands have a special web admin login accessible in the top right of the web page of the device.

Thanks - I can't get to it - I guess the unit is off but I'll try to get to it on Monday.

Re: Can't find my scan to address book

To my knowledge there is what I linked (which is for scanning and email, you just put in different spots) or LDAP address book for network scanning. That address book is not stored locally on device. It's a couple of pages above in linked documentation.

And if you are doing smb it would be

3. Click on the [Properties] tab.
4. Click on the [Services] link.
5. Click on the [Network Scanning] link.
6. Click on the [File Repository Setup] link.
