Just going to add this here. @Joe053204-xrx And @gabiene instuctions are correct.

Try using a different USB key. As it might be the key that could be the issue.

Hi,

As Joe told to you, prepare an USB thumb drive with software, shut off the machine, put the USB thumb on USB port indicated in the picture bellow, power ON the machine while pressing the Energy Saver button. Hold the button down until Download Mode appear.

Good luck!

Gabi

If you can't get into Download mode you need a tech. Some machines don't need the 4 held down, so you can try energy saver only while booting, but other than that it may be beyond repair.

I tried your instructions. However, the printer just makes a beeping sound and boots up normally. I tried Chorme Browser and it actually saw it do the 100% upload but nothing happend. I made sure the allow upgrades was check out int the WCIS. Any other ideas Please!

Wireless is a bad idea.

Chrome is the only web browser that will actually show file progress of an upload (Look to the lower left of the window)

It also should be possible to put a folder called DWLD on a USB driver, stick the bin in that, shut off the printer, put the USB in its USB port, then hold the 4 and the Energy saver button down while powering it back up. Release when it gets into Download mode, it should install that way.

Can't get Manual firmware upgrade to work

Jump to solution
Product Name: WorkCentre 7120/7125
Operating System: Windows 10

I am having to upgrade the firmware due to scan to email needing more advance encryption. I found a post with the solution and a link to the firmware 71.24.23 (current 71.23.53). After following the instructions included in the file downloaded nothing happens even after 3 or 4 ours of waiting. On the WCIS the Enabled upgrades was already checked and after browsing to the uncompressed file and pressing the green button to start the upgrade no indication was given of something happening. The only thing I notice was if I tried to close the browser a window will pop-up claiming a download was in progress.

I search a lot and can't find anything else that is not explained in the instructions that came with the file. Please help!

(working from a laptop on a wireless network, if that helps any)
