I found an article for not being able to scan to email using SMPT server for you to take a look at.

I have a WorkCentre 7855. Suddenly I could not scan to email. I have not changed anything in either the software, firewall on the printer or the computer.
If I reset the software on the printer or restart it, I may subsequently be lucky to get one email through. Then I get the following error message: One or more messages were not sent. Failed to transmit messages to sender mail server (SMTP). Contact your system administrator. Does anyone know what is wrong?
