Cannot scan to pdf after upgrading OSX

Product Name: Docuprint m205b
Operating System: macOS 10.13 - High Sierra

I recently upgraded to OSX 10.13 (High Sierra) and installed Office 365.  My good old Docuprint 205b is printing okay but I can no longer scan to PDF.  I can scan to jpeg.  It goes through the process of scanning but the scan as a pdf is totally black.  I have reinstalled Mac Driver v134 which says it includes printer driver, scan driver and express scan manager.  Any help appreciated.
