Re: Centrally manage scan templates

I implemented (finally) the central Template Pool, as you suggested.

I generated a first XST from a job log.

The printer reads the XST and loads all the settings, but still one issue remains:

I use a repository (accessed with SMB protocol) to store the scan output. The repository use a SYSTEM account, with fixed username and password.

The local templates access the folder without problem, but the network template asks for credential to access the repository.

The remote template is not able to use the credentials stored on the printer?

There is a way to set directly the credentials inside the XST?

Thanks

Re: Centrally manage scan templates

What you are describing sounds like a Template Pool, where the devices would all consult a network location that would have the templates stored in  (CWIS > Properties > Services > Workflow Scanning > Advanced > Template Pool Setup) ,Template creation is typically done by external applications such as Smartsend or NSI Autostore. I believe you can also use the .XST file that goes with a scan done from a template (Job Log).

If that does not work, you could just clone the settings from one machine onto the others under CWIS > General Setup > Cloning and check only the Templates option and nothing else, then apply that clone to the other devices.

Centrally manage scan templates

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I'm working with WC 5875 and WC 7835 models.

In both devices is it possible to configure a network repository for workflow scanning templates.

But "how to configure the repository" or "how edit the XST template file" is not documented well, both on user and administrator guides.

There is a way to centralize the template management?

I have to keep the same settings on 15 devices with 30 templates. Doing it manuallyis not easy!

Thanks
