Re: Cleaning / Greasing scan bed for Xerox 7545

Sorry, I'm not a tech and I don't have the service manual either. Sounds like you need to hire someone to fix it from Xerox or some 3rd party repair company.

Re: Cleaning / Greasing scan bed for Xerox 7545

Thanks for the reply. It took me a while because I could not locate 7545 service manual you suggested. I ended up paying for a WC7556, since I understand majority of the parts are the same between the two models.

However, this 1436 page document is overly complex, and I do not know how to find the possibly stripped gear (or other suggestions) for my particular problem. The scanner continues to grind... and search words like "scanner" "grind" doesn't yield any beneficial results, nor is there a section that addresses bad scans or grinding noises.

How do I use this manual OR -- where can I get the part number for the gear that you speak of so I can try replacing it?

Thank you very much in advance.

Cleaning / Greasing scan bed for Xerox 7545

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this. The Xerox scanbed stutters physically as it goes from left to right (as it scans), It produces a jittery scan that is somewhat usable, but not the quality expected from a high-end scanner.

I have tried removing the glass platen, but cannot see any touch points that may require greasing or even potentially replacing.

Can anyone help with methods of troubleshooting or provide guidance to this? Thank you in advance.
