Re: ColorQube 8900 Workflow scanning

I ended up finding the link below that was posted about another issue and it ended up telling me everything I needed to know. I didn't want to delete the post in hopes that it would be able to help someone else.

http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-7800-series/support/enus.html?objGUID=16785

This is basically all that was needed:

To set up SMB Scanning:

  1. From the computer, open an Internet browser window.
  2. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS) window will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [Properties] tab.
  4. Enter the user name and password in the fields provided, and then click on the [Login] button.

NOTE: The default username is "admin" (case sensitive), and the default password is "1111".

  5. Click on [Services] to expand the list of options.
  6. Click on the [Workflow Scanning] link.
  7. Click on the [File Repository Setup] link.
  8. Click on the [Edit] or [Add] button in the Default File Destination section.
  9. Enter a name in the Friendly Name field (optional).
  10. Select [SMB] from the Protocol menu.
  11. Enter the Hostname of the computer that has the shared directory in the Host Name field, or click on the [IPv4 Address] radio button and enter the IP address.
  12. Enter the directory share name in the Share field. The Document path field can be left blank if you are filing to the share folder. If you are filing to a sub-folder under the shared directory, enter that path.
  13. Select the radio button of the Login Credentials to Access the Destination method to use. The radio buttons are:
    • [Authenticated User and Domain]
    • [Authenticated User]
    • [Prompt at User Interface]
    • [System]
  14. If [System] is selected in step 13, then the Login Name, Password and Retype Password fields must be filled."
  15. Click on the [Save] button.
  16. Click on the [Logout] link and logout of CWIS.
  17. Close the browser window.

ColorQube 8900 Workflow scanning

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have been having a few ColorQube8900 units for about a year now working, for the most part, just fine. One of my co-workers, not realizing what he was doing, changed the password on our "Xerox" user which is what we were using for all of our scanning templates for the Login Credentials to Access the Destination.

It has been ages since the Xerox account's password had been changed and the one that originally setup the account forgot the password we had used. Now our issue is that even though we are going into the colorQube's web interface and changing the Login Credentials, we are still getting the error "Login Failure. Check user password, and/or setups."

I'm going to Properties > Services > workflow scanning > Advanced > template pool setup  in the user interface to set the new password for our default templates. I'm not sure if I'm changing the credentials in the right place or not.

Unfortunately the one that set all of this up is on vacation and we haven't heard back from him except for him telling us that he doesn't remember the old password...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
