You likely won't ever get it to say 0% used, some of that partition is used for temp storage.
To wipe the device completely needs an ALTBoot from a technician (I am not allowed to disclose how it is done on the forum, 2nd level support can tell you by phone if you are on contract)
To Wipe the mailboxes you can do so as admin on the device or via CWIS by choosing Files and Folders in the same area I showed in the above screenshot.
A Secure Disk Image Overwrite should clean most temporary files.
The only way something got into a mailbox after it was disabled would be that the machine had not as yet updated the template list, reboot or hit refresh template list on the Workflow scan screen. You could also in addition kill the Allow scanning to Default Public Folder by selecting Scan Policies (again, same area as above.)
Hi Joe,
thank you for your reply. I have disabled "Scan to Mailbox". Then I have tested again the "Scan To USB" function with an incompatible USB flash drive. The document has been scanned and stored on the internal memory (default mailbox) again. I can see filename directly through the file browser on the printer, but not through Centreware Internet Services and scanning. No files are displayed in the printer's web portal. I thought the saving of documents in the standard mailbox would not be possible with the deactivation of "Scan to Mailbox". Seems to be still running. Crap.
When I view the capacity of the mailbox, about 1.57 GB of 27.5 GB are occupied. The immediate deletion of the files brings nothing. No change in capacity and files are still displayed in the printer.
I would like to know, how I can delete every stored file on that printer.
John
If it can't read the USB stick you can't scan to it, it automatically will switch to whatever is the default for scanning and drop Scan To USB down to the bottom of the list.
If your users are scanning secure documents and are not paying attention, then I would suggest making the default mailbox use a password and just don't tell anyone what it is, then have the machine delete anything in that mailbox daily or hourly.
Hello,
if the "Scan to USB" function is used with USB flash drives that are not compatible by the printer (for example, not FAT32 formatted), the XEROX 9302 stores the scan jobs/files on the internal memory of the printer instead of on the USB flash drives. A note that the USB flash drive is not supported does not appear. However, these scan jobs/files are never deleted by the printer. They remain. As soon as the "Print from USB" function is called with an unreadable or incompatible USB stick, these "old" scan jobs/created files appear. These files could now be printed. This is a big problem with data protection. Everyone could print these files.
I have not found a way to delete these internally stored scan jobs/files. Is there a way to delete these files as well?
Softwareversion of the XEROX 9302: 072.180.145.05000
Thanks for a timely help.
John
