I appreciate you using the forum and my only goal is to help you get a solution to your inquiry.

 

I am a former technical specialist but I am not familiar with all products. In our forum if a fellow forum member doesn't reply in a timely manner then I do my best to direct you to a resource. My response was a result on searching our knowledge base and not intending on selling you anything.

 

Following our conversation, User- kimzi supplied an answer, and along with your reply from the Xerox service representative it seems that it may not be able to do what you wish.

 

But In an effort to get a trained Xerox analyst's definitive response (and if you have a maintenance agreement,) you can call 1-800-821-2797 & ask to speak to an analyst.

They have a higher level of specific product experience and I would refer them to this forum topic by the following Copying-Faxing-Scanning/ColorQube-9302-Scan-to-home-without-authentication.

 

I sincerely hope you get an appropriate response

 

Fortunately unlike some other companies, Xerox has a group with the ability to create custom solutions to complement the common printer functionality and if it is not able to perform that function, then I would consider inquiring as to the cost of creating special programming to fit your needs.

I do not think this is possible, as the machine does not know how to scan to folder depending on the username, the machine does not know how to read the %username% variable.

Mr. Swetsky,

 

the given instructions do not match the menu of our machine at all.

 

I do not know how I should feel about the fact that you are trying to sell us training or consulting services as a replacement for proper documentation.

 

Don't you think that a machine in that price range should come with adequate documentation?

 

We already had the pleasure of dealing with a "certified" xerox technician on-site, who flat out said that what we want to do is either not possible at all or not possible because we use Windows 2012 on our servers.

In the end he could not make up his mind.

 

How do we solve this issue?

ColorQube 9302 Scan-to-home without authentication

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

 

We would like to do scan-to-home without user authentication.

Ideally, we would have a pre-populated list of users (pre-populated from AD LDAP).

 

The user should be able to select his or her name from the list, execute the scan and then retrieve the result from "\\domain.tld\Scans\%USERNAME%", where "%USERNAME%" is replaced by the sAMAccountName.

 

Is this possible with mentioned model?
