Hello PointPark,
I would like to try and answer your question, but I'll need to get some more details about what you're doing first. Once I have the background information I can then try to figure out why your two outputs don't look as good as you had hoped. Below are some questions that I have for you. With your answers, I can understand what you were doing and how you were doing it. This will give me a better idea of what's going on.
Question 1: How are you scanning your original - from the platen glass or through the document feeder? Are you using the same method for both the copy job and the scan job?
Question 2: Have you looked at your platen glass to see if it is clean and free of debris and specs of dust and dirt that may cause copy/scan quality issues? There should be two pieces of glass to look at. One large piece and one thin strip next to it.
Question 3: Do you have a DFE (Digital Front End) hooked up to your machine? If so, can you tell me which one - EFI Splash, Integrated Fiery Color Server, FreeFlow Print Server, CX Print Server (by Creo), or the EX Print Server (by Fiery)?
Question 4: Did you view the document(s) on the DFE before printing them?
Question 5: When you described the output that you were receiving you said that the scan-to-file was not "exactly straight/very unclean/not print ready." Can tell me in detail what you mean by each of those statements?
All of the answers to those questions will provide me with enough information to see if I can recreate your problem here on one of our machines in our test lab. When I get things figured out, or if I have more questions after I see your answers, I'll be sure to ask and I will make this as quick as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to post all of this information and share with us what is going on with your machine!. We will try to help you as much as we can!
John
Hello,
I was just wondering if someone could tell me why when I make copies on our Xerox 700 from hardcopy it prints a very clean almost identical copy of the original but when I scan the same original using the network scanner to file I get a scan that isn't exactly straight/very unclean/not print ready no matter the scanner’s quality settings?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don
