Re: D95- Copy Code issues

if you create XSA accounts, for each user an account, then you can see how much each account has COPIED

but as a i said before, not in the job history report, you need to export the XSA report

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

It looks like I am stuck until I look into a 3rd party to help me differentiate who is copying what... thanks for all your help.

On a sidenote, not logging copying usage per account is a poor design on the part of Xerox. There really isnt any reason then to create accounts for each person in a building if it isn't going to keep track per job (except going in to total usage and doing the math when needed, which would get old really fast if you have someone that made a 500 page copy and you have to go through each account).

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

yes, but a thats not why a job history is created for

it can show the username in the prints, because its also in the spoolfile

as for copy, its always as a generic account, not the XSA account

if you want to know who copys what, you need a third party account solution like papercut/equitrac/safecom/...

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

Thanks Fabio!

Yes, that shows me totals and copy codes/users, but I am interested in why on the Job History it does not show the entered in copy code/User ID from the machine.

Unless I go in and keep daily to hourly track of totals and then compare them a few hours later, I don't see a way to see who is copying what.

Here is a snapshot of what I am missing... I can see how many are being copied, but I can't see who is copying. Screen Shot 2016-10-18 at 1.48.53 PM.png

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

you dont need to use the "job history" report

when you have enabled "xerox standard accounting" on the webinterface, there is also a section "reports"

download the XSA report (excel file), that will show you the codes/usernames

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

Sorry... I should have been more specific. I dont have any issues with people printing to the copier (I can see who printed and how many prints there were).

I do have problems when they use their account codes to copy from the machine. So when I build staff into Xerox Standard Accounting and give them an ID and Name, they have access to copy. However, on the Job History, it doesnt show anyone's codes.

I can see how many copies were made per job, but there are no accounting codes attached to each copy job.

Re: D95- Copy Code issues

The job report takes it's info from the job submission and doesn't care about the accounting code.

If it comes from an unknown user and doesn't know the Job name I would assume the port is either HP Jet direct, or possibly IPP/Bonjour/Appletalk.

Reinstall the driver on one Mac but do so manually and make the port LPD and try it, it is likely going to resolve the matter, if it does, do it with the others as well.

D95- Copy Code issues

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I have 4-D95 copiers at my business and we are having issues with the accounting portion of the copier.

When staff print from their devices (OSX), we can see on the usage that it was from their computers. However, when we set the staff up with copy codes, the codes do not register on the usage reports. We can see total usage by each copy code, but on the Job History Report, it shows as a blank owner.

Is there a way for the machines to register who is copying what with what copy code without going into the total usage reports to figure out how much someone has copied?

Thanks!
