Since it is only happening when copying or scanning I suggest that you clean the CVT glass. This glass is separate from the main glass, you can find the instructions here. If you're still having issue after trying these steps I suggest calling into the support center at 1-800-835-6100 for more assistance.
When copying or scanning, I have a dark line covering the left hand 3-5 cm of the print. Could this be a problem with the ribbon, the scan head or something else?
