Yes, I did call up the support.
But they pointed out since it can ping, then is not the machine problem and it just end there.
I have searched the documentation and have not been able to find an answer. I would recommend at this point you call the Customer Support Centre at 1-800-821-2797 and ask to speak with a 2nd Level Analyst.
The photocopier is not able to see the PC (hostname) in the same network (different IP subnet). Eventhough it can ping between PC-Photocopier (both way). If I replace the hostname with an IP adderss in the address book, then the scan-to-pc works.
However i would like to resolve the issue, to get the photocipier to be able to discover the PC using hostname automatically; else everytime the PC renew a new IP, the scan-to-pc features failed again.
Firewall: DHCP server (IP range 172.x.x.x)
Photocopier: received IP from Firewall (172.x.x.x)
Wifi AP: received IP from Firewall (172.x.x.x). Also broadcasting IP (192.168.x.x) for PCs over Wifi.
PC: received IP from Wifi AP. Getting IP 192.168.x.x.
PC can ping to Photocopier and vice versa (172.x.x.x) <-> (192.168.x.x).
But scan-to-pc under the same workgroup cannot see the PC (hostname).
Any idea how can i get the Photocopier to see the PC hostname?
