Dual Scanning Not Working

I was having trouble when I use dual scanning. The top side of the scan works fine, but the bottom side has a black "smudge" on it. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? It is for the Xerox XD-COMBO Duplex Combo Flatbed Document Scanner. 

I have also tried to calibrate it as well and that did not work.
