I recently got a ticket in for a WorkCentre 3615 printer, stating that whenever they scan to email it was getting the error "Error occurred when connecting to SMTP server.:016-764". They said this only recently started happening. I verified all of the settings and confirmed that it did have network connectivity, as does the rest of my network. In the email settings, the entries are as follows:
Enter the "From" Email Address: ****@gmail.com
SMTP Server (IP address or DNS Name): smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 587
Authentication Type: SMTP Auth
SMTP Login Name: ****@gmail.com
SMTP Password: ****
And in secure settings I am using STARTTLS
I have verified all of my credentials for logging in, I also verified that the firmware for this machine is up to date as well but we still receive this error when trying to scan to email. I've also tried utilizing other SMTP servers using different "From" emails such as AOL and adjusting the settings but I still get the same error. I understand that this Machine is pretty ancient and support for it isn't around too much but either a solution or a reason why it can't would both be extremely helpful.
