FTP settings for "Scan to FTP" shortcut

Product Name: Xerox B235 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Linux

I have a NAS on my LAN that I have enabled FTP server on and created a login for the Xerox B235 MFP.

The B235 and NAS are on the same network and there is no firewall/access issue between the devices.

In the shortcut I have provided working login/password and the ip address of the NAS.

Problem: whenever I attempt to use this shortcut on the XeroxB235, the mini display asks me to enter some password, TWICE, without reference to what that password is. Immediately after a password is entered two times, Xerox indicates that it started scanning, then immediately fails without any error code. This is verbatim what the user manual says about setting up scanning to FTP:

c. From the Shortcut Type menu, select FTP, and then configure the settings.
d. Apply the changes.

"and then configure the settings."

Can anyone explain, please?
