Re: Fax Boards Constantly Need "Fax Steup"

Thank you Gabi,

We had a service technician come out to take a look at the machine that was exhibiting the issue. He "reset" the fax card and told me there was an error with the card/board itself. I was also able to update one of the copiers with the new firmware. It's been a couple of days, and nobody has complained about the new firmware, so I'm going to slowly move forward with updating all of the copiers that we have here at our various facilites.

Hi,

Make a folder named AltBoot on a USB thumb drive ( FAT 32 formated ) and copy the donloaded software (just the DLM file) on it. Put the USB drive into a USB port of the machine and powe up the machine.  The machine will enter in Software Upgrade and will reboot.

Re: Fax Boards Constantly Need "Fax Steup"

I've tried to update multiple ways but haven't been able too. Is there a trick to updating these mahcines as well? I've tried logging in and doing it via the Web GUI, I've also tried using the update utility, but none of these will work. Are there specific insturctions (that I haven't already seen) regarding how to update these devices?

Fax Boards Constantly Need "Fax Steup"

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Not Applicable

Several times a month I will get a call from one of our users stating that they can't send or receive faxes. When I remote into the copier I find that the fax app is faded out. What is causing this to happen? We have 7 of these devices and so far we've seen it happen on at least 4 of them at differenty physical locations.Fax Issue.JPG
