This resolved my issue.
I am having the same issues. Even let Xerox remote in and they said everthing was done correctly and it should be working. Are we missing something? What could be happening?
Does the From Address in fax match what you use in Email? Because unless you created an Alias on the server, email will fail because the username and password (in SMTP) doesn't match the account (in fax)
We have an AltaLink C8070. Current software is 100.003.057.09609. Incoming fax is currently set simply to print locally, and is working fine.
Due to COVID issues we want to add forwarding of incoming faxes to an e-mail address, as well as continuing to print locally.
We have set up SMTP connectivity. Using the built-in test function successfully sends an e-mail to the target mailbox.
Fax Forwarding looks like it can do exactly what we want. I've set up a new forwarding rule and applied to incoming faxes:
File Format type: PDF - image only (default)
Print local copy: Always
Forward to e-mail checked (enabled)
Address 1: same as with successful SMTP testing above
From address, From name: filled in as required
As far as I can tell that should be all I need to do. However, the forwarding to e-mail function is not working, the target mailbox is receiving nothing when an incoming fax arrives.
Any ideas?
