FOIP isn't at all reliable, and not really supported.

Does faxing work using the EXT port?

It certainly shouldn't since it is for an extension line that bridges to the Line port, since it would seem nothing is plugged into LINE it is bridged to nothing

Should I hear a dial tone when I press the Manual Dial button (Keypad/phone/.com icon) when using the EXT port?

If you have a handset in EXT and the printer is properly able to fax you should have a dial tone, that is the point, it helps to share a single phone line

Hello,

I have a WorkCenter 3215.

If I plug in the phone line to the LINE port on the back of the fax machine I get "Check Fax Line" when I try to fax and/or when I press the Manual Dial button (Keypad/phone/.com icon).

If I plug in the phone line to the EXT port on the back of the fax machine I do not get the "Check Fax Line" message; however I cannot send nor receive faxes.

Does faxing work using the EXT port?

This is the first time I have tried using this machine as a fax machine.

It seems that the LINE port is broke.

Should I hear a dial tone when I press the Manual Dial button (Keypad/phone/.com icon) when using the EXT port?

Hi,

You should use the LINE. The EXT you can connect a phone. Doing that you can use your device has a fax and a phone.
