Fax sends but prints error page

Product Name: WorkCentre 6505
Operating System: Not Specified

WorkCentre 6505.  
This started occurring a few months ago.  When I send a fax, it connects and the other end receives the fax, but then the printer prints out the report that says:
The documents were not sent.
*** Error ***

In addtion, other other times I'll get that the receiving fax is "busy" when it's not.  Error 035-731 comes up on the display.

Any help to figure out what this "error" is would be appreciated.
