I am not able to see the normal default Fiery scan templates on my C70's UI. All other functions are working fine. I have reloaded the Fiery software and installed the latest firmware to the machine.
The Fiery is at v. 1.0_SP3
the machine is at 60.30.91
The mailboxes do exist as I can connect to "guest" with remote scan.
I can find the Fiery templates on the EX in the e:/home/templates/Fiery_Templates folder.
I can see and interact with the Fiery templates on the Fiery tab of the UI.
I can see the fiery templates and make a new template in webtools and it appears on the UI's Fiery button's scan tab when I select "update."
In the network scanning tab there is a single default template. If I use it it gives an FTP error. 016-577
(* I made a new thread on this beause reloading the software/firmware made the original error message "check scanner network cable" go away
Solved! Go to Solution.
What you are describing is what happens when someone sets the IP of the printer as static (It should be DHCP/A)
Or, they change the default File repository and Template pool in CWIS to be not the original default (which is its connection to the Fiery NIC)
File repo here at CWIS > Properties > Services > Network Scanning File Repository Setup
This must be exactly the following
Same goes for this, it must be identical
After fixing, a reboot is needed of both the copier and Fiery
Password for those settings is fX7eWp1a7e (case sensitive)
Thanks Joe I double checked and the machine is set to auto DHCP
I double checked and reentered the file repo and template pool per your screenshots, rebooted both, still not able to see Fiery templates.
If I scan using the default template that is showing on the UI network scanning tab it gives an FTP error 016-577
The default template is from the copier, and it points at the default File repository (until you tell it otherwise)
016-577 is for when you tell it to FTP into something that has no FTP service running.
You cannot disable the FTP service on the Fiery NIC2 for the bustled/Integrated Fiery, but on the EX Fiery (That runs Windows) you definitely can disable FTP, and you can also simply turn on Windows Firewall. Both will cause what you see here.
But so will the listed settings being changed, although it appears you have fixed that (if it were worng)
Joe I checked in configure that the FTP ports were open and on the Fiery that windows firewall is off, still have an FTP error, anything else I can check?
You are going to need a tech, according to this thread and the other one:
Firmware was updated, Fiery was updated (and this certainly isn't a known issue to the device)
So it isn't software/firmware
It isn't settings, you confirmed every single setting that matters for this issue are not/were not incorrect/changed.
So it isn't settings/firmware or software
Which leaves an actual (really odd) hardware failure. Hopefully simply the crossover cable connecting the 2, but that isn't likely.
The only other option is a complete reload of the Fiery and an NVM wipe of the copier if that isn't enough. But realistically, we've covered all the settings that may have been changed
