FujiXerox CM315z: Scan to email fails (error code 016-764)

We bought a new CM315z "Panther" and Scan To Email fails with error code 016-764.

The email configuration
SMTP Server Address   ;tested with both SMTP name and SMTP TCP/IP address
SMTP Server Port Number (1 ~ 65535): 25
TLS/SSL encryption:   Disabled
used is the same way as another printer CM305 df "Platypus" and it works without any problems.

The Panther firmware is the latest version.

 

What can be wrong?

It means an invalid response from the server.

 

So, if it was an internal relay to use Office365 without authentication, you need to set this device to relay via it's IP address (Server side)

That is fairly typical in cases where a printer isn't capable of STARTTLS, or SHA-2 , in any current Xerox machine they work without the relay as long as firmware is up to date.

 

But you have a FujiXerox, so I have no access to firmwares or release notes (Xerox and Fuji Xerox do not share support information as they sell in different markets)

Just got my new Docuprint C315z delivered on Friday and I set it up today. I am struggling to get the scan to email to work properly. I'm using a new Gmail I setup for this purpose but I don't really mind what provider I use. So far this has been a bit of a disappointing experience compared to my HP which I had working very quickly.

I've tried disabling less secure apps but that hasn't done anything.

I've tried following these steps https://atyourservice.blogs.xerox.com/2019/09/10/gmail-and-your-xerox-multifunction-printer/ but had no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've dug through the forums a bit but nothing has come up that has worked for my printer.
