Re: Getting Scan To: Network setup

Thank you Joe for the details on that feature. Knowing it uses NetBIOS to find computers with shares helps. Also I wasn't sure if it would be possible to save credentials for accessing the share or not, sounds like it would not be possible. Thanks again!

Re: Getting Scan To: Network setup

There is no setup, it should just work, but....

It only finds things via Netbios, and since that is pretty much blocked by most OS's now, it fails more often than it succeeds.

You're better off just manually entering the info in the addreess book to scan to a location anyway, especially since you would have to manually enter everything using the browse feature every time you use it (Browse LAN for PC, enter username and password, browse for share(s) etc)

Getting Scan To: Network setup

Product Name: VersaLink C7020/C7025/C7030 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Is there a writeup on getting the Scan To: Network feature setup on the VersaLink's? It seems like what it's supposed to do is browse the local network for SMB shares and allow you to scan to those shares and subfolders below the share. I can't find documentation on how to configure any of this though and when I select that option the screen thinks about it for a few seconds before displaying "Unexpected Communications error. Cannot browse at this time. Check the network connection".

Thank you in advance.
