Those settings absolutely should not be working on the other device since Googles mail server doesn't use authentication on the ASPMX one, and since you provided the login it should fail on this machine. Even if authentication was needed, you would be trying to authenticate as Notifications@XXX.com but trying to send as WorkCentre@XXX.com, which wouldn't work either.

And that old workaround is no longer needed anyway, these machines all work on the fully featured server ala ;

smpt.gmail.com, port 587, STARTTLS

Then you will be able to email anyone, instead of just gmail, G-Suite users

i tried to configure my new Xerox Workcentre 6515 to send scan to email, but i got an error "Error (027-778) : No Mode Specified by SMTP-AUTH'

the same config works good with my Xerox Workcentre 5945.

this is my config.
