GoDaddy email failure on Versant 80

Versant 80.  System software version 80.30.71

Intergated Fiery DFE.

Trying to setup scan to email to GoDaddy SMTP server.  Using the email feature of the internal V80 engine.  Have tried all combinations of SMTP settings and always get the same error.  

Error message is:  Completed with an Error (027-779) It attestation-fails by SMTP-A.

The Smart eSolutions feature successfully connects to the xerox server, so I believe that DNS settings in the V80 are correct and communication is working through the Fiery to the internet.  There must be some other problem with the setup.  Here are SMTP settings I have tried.

SMTP host name:  smtpout.secureserver.net

Port:  25, 80, 3535, 465 with SSL

Encryption: Tried STARTTLS (if available) with all ports.  Also tried no encryption with all ports.

Login was a valid account.

 

To me, it just looks like a system software problem.  Any ideas on how to fix this, or what system software level to try?

It very well could be an issue of choosing STARTTLS (If available) instead of STARTTLS.

Admittedly it is odd, but they are not the same in Xerox products, in fact, in almost every case the if available one will fail when the STARTTLS one will succeed.

 

You may also need a firmware update, the Fuji-Xerox products all (mostly all) had some issues with SHA-2 encryption and had to get firmware updates to resolve issues with any SMTP server using it (Gmail and Office365 are the big ones who do)

 

If that is the case though, I can't supply it because these machines need a tool to install the updates, and the tool is not available publicly (as far as I know)

 

So try STARTTLS, and port 587. If it fails, call Xerox, get 2nd level, request Firmware 80.30.71 to fix an issue with email authentication from the IOT
