Any way you could update this for windows 10? I have inherited a WorkCentre 7435 but where I am placing it is far from the cable modems and of course it doesn't have wifi. Can I use this method to connect it to the internet via a computer?
Assuming you have Windows 7, follow these steps:
http://blog.mclaughlinsoftware.com/2009/11/26/windows-7-static-ip/
On step 5 enter these settings:
IP: 192.168.0.6
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
ignore the rest
Now is time to test:
Go to Start and on the field type CMD and enter
A black windows should appear. Type this:
ping 192.168.0.5 and enter
you should get 4 replies something ike this:
Reply from from 192.168.0.5: bytes=32 time=1 ms TTL=46
Reply from from 192.168.0.5: bytes=32 time=1 ms TTL=46
Reply from from 192.168.0.5: bytes=32 time=1 ms TTL=46
Reply from from 192.168.0.5: bytes=32 time=1 ms TTL=46
If you get this you just completed the configuration of your network.
Let me know before we continue to the next step

Nice!
Connect the cable to the printer network port and to your pc.Next step is configuring the network.
- Set an IP address on your printer by following these steps:
On step 8 select auto
On step 11 select IPv4
On step 2 select Static
On step 5 enter: 192.168.0.5
On step 7 enter: 255.255.255.0
ignore step 8, 9, 10, 11
After step 16, stop
Next is how to set an ip on your PC, but for that I need to know what is your Operation System and version

Ok, no problem!
Hi Gary,
Let’s go slowly. If you don't have a network environment I suggest you start from here.
1st - You need to buy a few things first, but you need to think what is the future for your office. I think you have only one PC. Are you thinking in having other? For sure that your PC have on the back a network port. If yes in both questions, this is what you need to buy:
- Network switch - an 5 port will be sufficient. You can buy it in the nearest Staples or similar. You should get one for 25€
- 2 network cables RJ45 - around 2€ each.
If you don't think to have more pcs and your PC has a network port, then you only need a network cable RJ45 called "CrossOver". This one is more difficult to get.
If your decision is to buy these items then when you have they, post here so we can go forward to the second step: connecting everything.
The 3rd step will be configuring the network and the last step will be installing the driver.
Look forward to see your decision.

Rui
Hi Gary,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. You can find documentation for the machine on the online support pages for the machine. You can also access the current drivers and troubleshooting information there as well. I hope this helps if not you might also consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
