How to scan to email on the 6180MFP

I'm hoping someone can tell me how to scan an image to an email. I followed the setup guide and created an email via CentreWare. However when I stand in front of the copier I cannot located it. I have tried manually entering the email address via the keypad on the on the copiers console, but receive an error when attempting to send. Am I missing something obvious?

Correction: I meant to say "fax", not "copier"
